Hi Brokeback, yep, the WT, Jehovah & Jesus have a hard time fitting all together... It makes it hard to think right when there are all these contradictions.

I understand, Tornintwo.... it totally helps to vent...it all seems so unreal, but REAL.... I use to focus on "This has to be God's organization because we see "the love among themselves"... the "Worldwide brotherhood"..... Only when we actually see behind the curtain do we know who really is there.

TorninTwoI hope that you and your husband do not try to "live up to the standards" of these pious elders. Do not try to appease them, they will only suck the life out of your soul, and for what?
Reading many court cases that involve the WT & abuse cases, I see that there really is no justice... as one lawyer said, "there is just us."
The GB, the Borg, have trained the borganization, in the most part, to be just like them.... Rules are rules, money is money, who cares what happened to you.... Oh, and don't tell anyone about it or we'll DF you, you'll lose your family, kids, friends... maybe even your job.
They are very cold hearted. This happens everywhere, over and over. I've read of very sincere brothers travelling miles, spending all of their earnings to see the GB, to discuss in person the troubles they have had with things they've read. Do not be fooled. They do not care.
The best thing to happen to you and your children is to have your husband back, to have a family, create memories, live. Your 16 year old is way more important than them, invest your time with him. Once you & hubby are 'off the hamster wheel', you will be able to think, breathe, relax! Go on vacation with no guilt!
Let the ones who make the burdens have the burdens, and escape!

Separated for over a month...
by cognac init hasn't been easy at all... trying to care for two kids- ages 3 & 6, while working fulltime, barely any support from immediate family, my ex has only seen the kids twice for a few hours, ughhhh.... i make way to much money to qualify for any sort of help, ex barely makes anything so that's out.... this is a million times harder than i could have even imagined... but, we are managing somehow; abeit, a little creatively at times.... i had just started thinking to myself, "we can do this!
" then, my house got robbed, about 10k worth of stuff stolen... ughhhh..... this is so depressing....

So sorry someone had to come and make things worse! Just when you think, how could it be!? Robbery is so evil.
I hope the police are on top of it.... Time to invest in some type of home security, right? A dog? Camera?

Family Reuinion and Being Disfellowshipped (sorry...but it's long)
by babygirl30 init has been a long looong time since i posted on here, but never ceased reading all the posts and keeping up on the changes that have been going on!
but it just seems that now i have a need to get something off my chest, and this is the one place that will most definitely understand the topic at hand.
i have been disfellowshipped for about 8yrs now, and have dealt with the 'consequences' of that decision: all my so-called friends in the org left and i was also abandoned by my own family.

Good job, babygirl! The more normal & loving you & your boyfriend look, the more obvious your mom & dad's inhuman behavior will become.
It is very hard to survive something like that! Congratulations! Great that you had the backup and support of your other relatives, things will get easier the more in touch you stay with them, and build up that relationship you use to have!
Hang in there, realize it's not you, but the BORG that has trained it's worshippers to behave in such a despicable, inhuman way!

Here's another acronym for you: RTS: Religious Trauma Syndrome...
Why would Marcus or anyone (child abuse victims) have to go thru this type of trauma/pain if "The second greatest command?" is "Love your neighbor as yourself"
or as a scripture JW's like to quote says,
John 13:33-35 says: 34 I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you , that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.”
So many people struggle with the injustice they see, but are unable to simply say, "Where is the love?"

I am so glad to hear he survived, and that he has you for support! It's totally wrong for good people to have to try to sort thru this "cognitive dissonance" or "ambient abuse" or "gaslighting"... where not only do you have no money, but where is your support system that you use to think the most of? Where did it go? Your 'brothers that you would die for'? Gone in a flash.....
I have met many people with different experiences, but they have the same type of feelings of disappointment and confusion as to 'what in the world is happening? this is suppose to be God's organization?'
I met all kinds of nice people, empathetic, warm, loving, caring people in S Lake Tahoe at the Apostafest! I think all the caring people have to leave, they can't take the hypocrisy. Caring people won't defend what is wrong, caring people have a need to support truth... real truth. Your comment reminded me of a saying on one of my husband's T-shirts:
"Don't believe everything you hear"
"Real Eyes"
"Realize"
"Real Lies"
May I ask, how did you find this thread? ... again, Welcome!
